We have a large variety of outdoor gear available to rent! Check our student or faculty/staff price lists for equipment and prices. Before you rent, please be sure you understand our policies, below.

Rental Equipment Policies

The renter assumes sole liability for any injuries or damages sustained by Himself/Herself and/or to others while using this equipment, including negligence on the part of the University, and hereby acknowledges he/she is trained and/or has suitable experience in the use of the equipment.

Renters accept equipment "as-is." The renter assumes the risk of any defect in design or use and has the responsibility to examine the equipment prior to accepting it. Manuals provided by equipment manufacturers are available upon request for free. These manuals may contain vital information about the safe operation and use of the rental equipment; renters are strongly encouraged to borrow and become familiar with these manuals.

Eligibility

Rental equipment is only available to university students, faculty, staff, and dependents and spouses with a valid WyoOne card. To rent equipment, be sure to bring your WyoOne Card with you.

Payment

A valid credit or debit card (Visa, MasterCard or Discover) is required to rent equipment. We accept cash, checks, credit or debit cards (Visa, MasterCard, or Discover) for payment.

Advanced Reservations

We accept reservations up to 7 days in advance by phone or in-person only. No payment is required at the time of reservation. Payment must be made prior to checking out the equipment. Advanced reservations must be picked up and paid for by 1 p.m. on the day of check-out. We recommend coming in to make advanced reservations for items that require sizing (e.g. skis, boots, etc.). Equipment not picked up by 1 p.m. will be released and available for others to rent.

Late fees

Late fees begin the day after the equipment is due back. Renters are charged the "day" rate for each day (bike rentals will be charged 1/2 the semester rate each week) the equipment is late and continue to accrue until the equipment is returned.

Damaged or lost equipment

Renters will be charged for repair and shipping of damaged equipment or the full retail replacement cost for lost or stolen equipment. Cleaning fees are charged for returning dirty or wet equipment. Cleaning and repair fees are dependent upon the article of equipment.

Refunds

No refunds are made for equipment rented but not used. Any claim about the unsuitability of the rented equipment is limited solely to the refund of the rental fee.
