The School of Energy Resources (SER) wrapped up a successful weekend of events in celebration of energy at the University of Wyoming.

The weekend was represented by a series of events including a presentation from Dr. Glen Murrell of the Wyoming Energy Authority, campus and building tours, and a networking reception in anticipation of the UW Football game on Saturday, Sept. 18.

“This weekend was not only important to recognize the energy industry and all that it has done for the state of Wyoming, but it was also way for the public to learn about the research and academic programs at SER, and to expand our energy network,” says SER Director of Outreach, Christine Reed.

As a pillar of SER’s mission, outreach and engagement with the broader community plays a critical role in raising awareness and the visibility of energy topics important to Wyoming.

By engaging stakeholders, facilitating relationships, and increasing education about energy development and the energy transition, SER is making an investment in Wyoming’s future.

SER was assisted with the weekends’ festivities by PCL Construction (PCL) and the Wyoming Association of Professional Landmen (WAPL).

“SER would like to extend a huge thank you to PCL and WAPL for co-sponsoring our pre-game reception,” adds Reed. “Through their generous support we were able to host a wonderful event where students connected with potential employers, and our energy partners were able to develop valuable, new relationships with future collaborators.”
