WE ARE...
At 7,220 feet above sea level, we’re Wyoming’s only four-year theatre and dance program—a
vibrant community of creative faculty, staff, and students. We offer B.F.A. degrees in Acting, Dance, Musical Theatre Performance, Dance Science, and Design,
Production and Management, as well as B.A. degrees in Theatre and Dance and minors across disciplines.
Our undergraduate-only program provides state-of-the-art theatres, studios, and shops that foster artistic growth
and professional preparation. Rooted in curiosity, exploration, and collaboration,
our training encourages creative risk-taking and interdisciplinary work in an inclusive environment that celebrates all backgrounds. As a catalyst for the
performing arts in Wyoming and beyond, we’re proud to offer Elevated Training for Elevated Success.

Top-Tier Facilities
The Department of Theatre and Dance is housed in the recently renovated Buchanan Center for the Performing Arts (BCPA), one of the best-equipped performing arts venues in the Rocky Mountain region. The BCPA features three primary performance spaces: the 385-seat Main Stage (proscenium), the 256-seat Thrust Theatre, and the flexible 140-seat Studio Theatre (black box). Teaching spaces include multiple dance and acting studios, a design/tech lab, and state-of-the art shops. The BCPA also houses extensive backstage resources, smart classrooms, and public study areas.
