Welcome to the Department of Theatre and Dance!

Housing one of the most outstanding undergraduate theatre programs in the country, UW Theatre and Dance is dedicated to the advancement, practice, and understanding of theatre and dance arts.

Our mission is to prepare students effectively for professional careers in theatre, dance, motion pictures, or screenwriting and playwriting, as well as for graduate and professional schools through considerable hands-on and curricular training.

With small class sizes, dedicated faculty, excellent opportunities for practical experience, outstanding facilities, and a genuine focus on undergraduate training, UW Theatre and Dance offers you the best undergraduate education available.

‘Angry Psycho Princesses’ Premieres at UW April 26

April 20, 2016 — The University of Wyoming Department of Theatre and Dance will close the spring semester with the premiere production of “Angry Psycho Princesses” -- the hilarious and haywire new musical that Disney doesn’t want you to see.

UW Invited to Perform at National Dance Festival

April 5, 2016 — University of Wyoming dancers are invited to perform at the National Festival of the American College Dance Association June 8-11 at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.

‘Un/Modified’ Dance Concert March 3-5 at UW

February 26, 2016 — The University of Wyoming Department of Theatre and Dance will present “Un/Modified,” a collaborative dance concert, Thursday, March 3-Saturday, March 5, at 7:30 p.m. on the Buchanan Center for the Performing Arts main stage.

‘The Night of the Iguana’ to be Staged Feb. 9-13 at UW

February 2, 2016 — Tennessee Williams’ play, “The Night of the Iguana,” -- a provocative exploration of human struggle, passion and connection -- opens the University of Wyoming Department of Theatre and Dance’s spring season for a five-night run next week.

Guest Artist to Give Lecture, Performance Jan. 29 at UW

January 22, 2016 — Julliard School-trained dancer and guest artist Pablo Francisco Ruvalcaba will present a lecture and performance Friday, Jan. 29, in the University of Wyoming College of Education auditorium. Both events are free and open to the public.

November 3, 2015 — The University of Wyoming Department of Theatre and Dance fall season continues with the comedy “Legacy of Light” Nov. 10-14 at 7:30 p.m. and Nov. 15 at 2 p.m. on the Buchanan Center for the Performing Arts Main Stage.

September 30, 2015 — The 2015-16 University of Wyoming Theatre and Dance fall season opens with “Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike” Oct. 6-10 at 7:30 p.m. and Oct. 11 at 2 p.m.

Vertical Dance and Lights Along the Shore Present ‘Set on Stone’ Sept. 9

September 3, 2015 — A first-of-its-kind vertical dance concert, titled “Set on Stone,” will take place Wednesday, Sept. 9, on the north face of the University of Wyoming Physical Sciences Building.

July 1, 2015 — The University of Wyoming Snowy Range Summer Theatre concludes its 62nd season with “Mad Gravity,” a wacky new farce about living authentically and the meaning of life.
