Welcome to the Department of Theatre and Dance!

Housing one of the most outstanding undergraduate theatre programs in the country, UW Theatre and Dance is dedicated to the advancement, practice, and understanding of theatre and dance arts.

Our mission is to prepare students effectively for professional careers in theatre, dance, motion pictures, or screenwriting and playwriting, as well as for graduate and professional schools through considerable hands-on and curricular training.

With small class sizes, dedicated faculty, excellent opportunities for practical experience, outstanding facilities, and a genuine focus on undergraduate training, UW Theatre and Dance offers you the best undergraduate education available.

Neil Simon Comedy Closes UW Summer Theatre Season

July 6, 2016 — “I Ought to Be in Pictures,” a classic family tale about a reconciliation and reconnection told with playwright Neil Simon’s signature comedic wit, closes the 63rd Snowy Range Summer Theatre season.

June 21, 2016 — The 2016 Snowy Range Summer Theatre season continues with a spirited revival of the beloved Broadway musical “Godspell,” a timeless tale of friendship, loyalty and love.

June 9, 2016 — Pragmatism and piety collide in the 2016 Snowy Range Summer Theatre season opener, “The Missionary Position,” Keith Reddin’s timely comedy about the backroom dealings on a presidential campaign trail.

June 6, 2016 — Vertical Dance and Lights Along the Shore will team up once again for a special free public performance Thursday, June 9, at 5:30 p.m. in the University of Wyoming Berry Biodiversity Conservation Center atrium.

UW Snowy Range Summer Theatre Prepares for 63rd Season

May 23, 2016 — A high-spirited season is expected for the 2016 Snowy Range Summer Theatre, featuring a comedy about the back-room dealings on the presidential campaign trail, a revival of a beloved Broadway musical, and a classic family tale about a reconciliation and reconnection.

‘Angry Psycho Princesses’ Premieres at UW April 26

April 20, 2016 — The University of Wyoming Department of Theatre and Dance will close the spring semester with the premiere production of “Angry Psycho Princesses” -- the hilarious and haywire new musical that Disney doesn’t want you to see.

April 5, 2016 — University of Wyoming dancers are invited to perform at the National Festival of the American College Dance Association June 8-11 at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.

‘Un/Modified’ Dance Concert March 3-5 at UW

February 26, 2016 — The University of Wyoming Department of Theatre and Dance will present “Un/Modified,” a collaborative dance concert, Thursday, March 3-Saturday, March 5, at 7:30 p.m. on the Buchanan Center for the Performing Arts main stage.

‘The Night of the Iguana’ to be Staged Feb. 9-13 at UW

February 2, 2016 — Tennessee Williams’ play, “The Night of the Iguana,” -- a provocative exploration of human struggle, passion and connection -- opens the University of Wyoming Department of Theatre and Dance’s spring season for a five-night run next week.
