2014-2015 Production Season

Each year, we produce six main season shows, including four theatre pieces and two dance concerts. Our season offers a lively mix of contemporary plays, the classics and Shakespeare, exciting new works, musicals and operas, and a range of modern dance, ballet, jazz, and vertical dance selections.

2014-2015 Eminent Artists-in-Residence: ACTORS FROM THE LONDON STAGE

The University of Wyoming Department of Theatre and Dance is proud to host the celebrated Actors from the London Stage as its 2014-2015 Eminent-Artists-in-Residence.

Members of AFTLS are in residency during spring 2015 for THE SHAKESPEARE PROJECT, in which they are setting three Shakespearean plays on our students in the AFTLS style.  The plays will run in twice each March 1 - 6, and a touring group from AFTLS will give two performances of MACBETH on March 7, 2015.

Annual Guest Artist Series

The Department hosts a Guest Artist Series each year with support from the Excellence in Higher Education Endowment through the Wyoming State Legislature.  To date, we have hosted top-notch professionals in the performance, technical and design, and playwriting fields, to lead workshops and master classes and to perform.

Coming MARCH 31 - APRIL3: INSIDE/OUT

Join us for INSIDE/OUT, an evening-length collaborative event highlighting different genres of dance, from contemporary modern and ballet to vertical. Choreographed by UW dance faculty Jennifer Deckert, Margaret Wilson, and Aaron Wood, the concert will be presented “in the round,” giving audiences a unique and exciting opportunity to see innovative trends in contemporary dance, while at the same time viewing movement from new and varied perspectives.

Coming April 9 & 10 only: HELL TO PAY

Coming to the University of Wyoming on a university performance and teaching tour, the critically acclaimed piece of theater "Hell To Pay" lands in UW's Studio Theater April 9 and 10 and 7:30 p.m. Strap in for a wicked ride from the dive bars of Nashville to the Gates of Perdition as we watch Billy Markham, one lonely compulsive gambler, slug it out with the Devil himself in a hilarious, highly physical, fast-paced game of cat and mouse.
