Special Projects:

Domestic Waterline Installation Schedule:

Utility work in Prexy’s: Utility installations will be ongoing through the month of October; please ensure you’re following signage and listening to construction safety staff. We don’t anticipate any pedestrian interruptions other than noise.

 

Flood Recovery Projects (UW Operations, Fall 2022):

Wyoming Union - Student Media Renovation (UW Operations; Fall 2022) – Flood recovery activities in the south portion of the Union lower level, including the office suite and video production studio.  Demolition and construction will at times generate noise, dust, and possibly odors.  Please use caution around crews, equipment, and uninstalled materials.


General Information:

Interactive Lewis Street Map: Due to ongoing projects around Lewis Street (See Science Initiative Building & West Campus Satellite Energy Plant below), an interactive map has been provided to better keep up with frequent closure changes, etc. Please go to https://uwopmaps.wygisc.org/CampusConstructionViewer/index.html to access this map. On the left side of the map, there are layers that you can select with the check boxes to change what is visible on the map. Click on the features on the map for information.

Vehicle Access to Core Campus - Vehicular traffic flow onto core campus will be restricted. Every effort must be made to keep vehicles off of the Prexy’s area during peak passing periods. The Berry Gate access, at 9 ½ Lewis street, will be the only access. Incoming vehicles must pass through this controlled entrance utilizing an authorized WyoOne card.


Ongoing & Current Projects:

Armory and Television Road – Asphalt resurfacing and sidewalk/curb and gutter repairs (Knife River) - Armory road is closed from Television road to 30th street for asphalt and concrete upgrades. There is access to the Little League Fields, UW Tennis courts and Television Road from 22nd street. Access to the old Armory building and the construction staging area to the North of the Armory is available from 30th street. Ongoing, Completion date September 30th. Ongoing.

Corbett Building Renovation (Shepard Construction, Inc., Rawlins, WY; August 2022) – New flooring install and wall finishing will continue in the south corridor of the Kinesiology and Health Office Wing.  Please follow posted signage for building circulation.  Please use caution around construction crews and activities.

Geology Building – Roof Replacement (Big Horn Roofing; Summer 2022) – Big Horn will be replacing the Roof of the Geology Building beginning July 14, 2022. There will be some noise and dusty conditions coming from the roof area and on the North end of the building by the Dock area. The west door to the atrium area will be closed off for periods of time for everyone’s safety while getting supplies to the roof. Indoor Tennis Complex  – Roof Replacement (Big Horn Roofing; Summer 2022) – Big Horn roofing will be upgrading the roof of the Indoor Tennis Complex (old part) beginning September 5th , 2022. There will be some noise coming from the roofing area. Staging of material and equipment will be on the south side. Please use extreme caution while equipment is working in the area. Law Remodel and Addition - Law Move to Hill Hall phase 1 is complete. Asbestos Abatement has mobilized and preparing for abatement. CMAR has been approved by The BOT last month and are under contract for precon services. Coordination is in full Swing with FCI on the bidding process for the upcoming project. Design is primarily complete.

Lewis St. Corridor Utility and Landscape (GE Johnson, Inc., Jackson, WY; October 2022) – Excavation for hot water valve repair will be on going in the corridor north of Agriculture and at the entrance to Prexy’s between Engineering and Agriculture. Pedestrian and vehicular partial closures will be present through October. 12th St. between Lewis and Bradley Streets is reopened. Please observe all site safety and traffic detour signs and use caution around construction crews and activities.

Pharmacy Asbestos Abatement (CHC ; July-Sept 2022) – Ongoing abatement will be performed throughout the Pharmacy wing of the Health Sciences Complex. Abatement will continue through September then reconvene over winter break.  Please be mindful to observe posted signage and restricted areas.

Prexy's Pasture Domestic Water Line Upgrade (Six Point Solutions, September 2022) - Walking paths along the construction site may be temporarily impacted during surface restoration.  Please stay clear of construction crews.

Prexy’s Pasture Utility Work – WCEP Phase II (GE Johnson, Inc., Jackson, WY; August 2023) – Work has commenced on the north side of Prexy’s pasture to replace a condensate line. Pedestrian access is uninterrupted, however please be aware of the fenced construction areas and all construction signage and the vehicular import and export of materials. This work will be noisy at times, it’s expected to be completed no later than October 15th.

UW Bradley Street House Removal (Domino Construction, Inc.; Fall 2022) – Houses are being removed and lots cleared at the corner of 12th and Bradley.  Contractor will begin staging and fencing the site for structure and vegetation removal.  There may be intermittent sidewalk and street closure to remove utilities.  Please follow posted signage for detours and use caution around construction activities.

Wyo Hall Deconstruction and Utility project (Construction manage Haselden Construction, Laramie, WY; Summer 2022) -  Hall Deconstruction and Utility project is primarily complete.   Please continue to observe all site restrictions and traffic control provisions in this area. The remainder of the work will be performed Summer, 2022.
