Reed is from Sheridan, Wyoming. He graduated from Augustana University in Sioux Falls, South Dakota in 2018, where he majored in biochemistry and sociology and competed for the school’s Division II Men’s Tennis program. Reed’s interest in medicine grew during his time at Augustana while working on research projects in the fields of neurology and medical sociology coupled with volunteering in an emergency room and a surgery department. For him, medicine offers an opportunity to combine a scientific curiosity with improving people’s lives, and he appreciates the team-oriented atmosphere. He is currently unsure of which specialty he will pursue and looks forward to narrowing his interests in medical school. In his spare time, Reed enjoys fly fishing, hiking, basketball and tennis.
