Coming to the Neltje Center

Before you arrive

This page contains all the forms you need to complete as well as background information to look over before your visit to the Neltje Center. Use this checklist for the necessary items:

  • Model Release
  • Med/Diet Form
  • Mini Residency Contract
  • MJEH Contract* (only if staying at the Mary Jane Edwards House)

 

 

All forms must be submitted at least 2 weeks prior to your visit, or you will be unable to attend

    Model Release

    Allows for the collection of photos and videos of you in the space, for use in Neltje Center promotional materials.

  • Glass candlesticks

    Med/Diet Form

    required

    Your diet preferences inform our meal planning and prepping. If we do not receive this form at least 2 weeks prior to your visit, we cannot accommodate your diet preference.

  • Zigzag sculpture

    Mini-Residency Contract

    required

    An agreement listing behavior expectations for the duration of your visit.

MJEH Contract

The Mary Jane Edwards House (MJEH) is a facility available for Neltje Center Mini-Residencies.

It is 2 miles away on the Jentel Artist Residency campus.

Not sure if you are staying at the MJEH? - Ask your group leader!

FAQs

The Neltje Center is located in Banner, WY which is 22 minutes Southeast of Sheridan, WY. From the UW campus in Laramie, WY it's a 4 hour 15 minute drive.
Video streaming and large downloads are not supported. Zoom calls are possible.

After welcoming you to the Neltje Center, our staff will depart and leave you to your mini-residency. There is no housekeeping or kitchen staff during your visit.

Neltje's gift of time and space is an incredible asset, and we ask for your assistance in being good stewards of the space by...

  • Returning books, kitchen items and furniture back to their original locations

  • Keeping the kitchen and eating areas clean by washing pots, pans, dishes, and utensils immediately after their use, and refrigerating any leftover food

  • Staying within the boundaries of the property

  • Leaving all linens on the beds and towels in the bathroom upon departure

  • Please ask for permission before handling any artwork in storage or throughout the house

  • Absolutely no smoking in the house or outbuildings. Designated smoking areas outdoors will be provided
