Yes! Giving to the UW Foundation is tax exempt. Our Taxpayer Identification Number (EIN) is 83-0201971. The University of Wyoming is a nonprofit institution, and the UW Foundation is its nonprofit fundraising organization.
There are many giving opportunities available during UW Giving Day. Make a gift to any area of the university you are passionate about, and 100 percent of the gift will go there. Or you can give to multiple areas! For a full list of giving opportunities, visit the UW Giving Day page (uwyo.edu/givingday) or the UW Foundation online giving page (uwyo.edu/giveonline).
You can add as many areas or funds as you'd like before you check out. You decide at checkout how much you would like to go toward each fund.
Absolutely! Gifts going toward UW Giving Day need to be given on that day, so please date the check on that day. However, we give a few days leeway after UW Giving Day for checks to be received. Also please mention on the comment line what you would like the gift to support. Make check payable to the UW Foundation and mail to:

Matches are funds that are set up before UW Giving Day that allow you to double the impact of your gift. Challenges are similar but are generally based on the number of donors or amount raised. Once a threshold is reached, the fund is unlocked. The full list of matches and challenges will be available the week before UW Giving Day!
Spread the word! Let your UW friends, family, and fellow alumni know that you’ve made a gift and encourage them to give too. Post on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram using the hashtag #uwgivingday #makemyday. Here are some resources for you! Send an email, or make a call.
