Creating Connections | Cultivating Partnerships | Catalyzing Collaboration
The Office of Industry and Strategic Partnerships connects companies to UW to create meaningful partnerships. These partnerships are opportunities for companies to support faculty in world-changing research, to recruit their future workforce, to offer internships, to influence the direction of UW programs, and much more.
Rather than face the pitfalls and uncertainties of building something from scratch, UW instead opted to trust what was already in place when it recently created the Office of Industry and Strategic Partnerships. A collaboration between Research and the UW Foundation, the industry-facing effort represents the focused response to enhancing and deepening its ties to local, national and international partners.
UW offers invaluable hands-on experiences for students that enhance academic knowledge and equip students with the practical skills essential for their future success and that of their employers. In addition, industry can engage with UW through financial and advisory support of the centers, field training experience, and recruitment networks for UW’s best and brightest scholars.
A gift from retired Shell engineer and executive Tom Botts and his wife, Shelley, to the University of Wyoming supports the head of the Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering and Construction Management in the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences. This gift was matched by the UW Foundation.
Some corporations match the charitable gifts of their employees. You can search to see if your company matches your gifts here, or check with your human resources department to see if the company you work for
has a matching program. You can also check if your company matches gifts while checking
out using UW's online giving form.
