Kea Eng, an educator from Cambodia visited Laramie and the University of Wyoming, as part of his participation in the Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI). Kea spent a month with the university, primarily in a fellowship at the UW makerspace. He also took part in campus events, met with faculty, and explored Wyoming and Colorado. Scholars from UW partner institutions in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan visited for two weeks over the summer. While here, they engaged in professional development, local activities, academic exploration, and collaboration with campus faculty. Their program culminated in presentations on the countries, cultures, and higher education opportunities.
UW in Scotland is a collaborative and transdisciplinary research and teaching project. The aim of the project is to build, sustain, and enable a faculty committed to international and transdisciplinary research, and to exploratory teaching in Scotland. This summer a faculty cohort visited to develop international connections, research, and curricula. They stayed at Walter Scott’s historic house in the Scottish Borders, where UW in Scotland is anchored.
Every summer, at the Centennial Public Library, CGS facilitates the Centennial Speaker Series: presentations on topical international research from members of the UW community. This summer features student research, "Costs of Conflict - Pending Global Food Crisis," and "Putin's Wars and the International Order," with presentations from Adlynn Jamaludin, Jordan Von Eggers, Mina Moscatelli, Barbara Rasco, Roger Coupal, Thomas Foulke, Tanja Börzel, and Thomas Risse.
Two early childhood educators from Laos visited Laramie and the University of Wyoming, as part of their participation in the Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI). Over the course of four weeks, they took part in a local fellowship at the Laramie Montessori School, engaged with university faculty and staff, took part in community events, and traveled the Mountain West.
