According to the Wyoming Department of Health, Aging Division, the number of older adults in Wyoming is growing dramatically.
By 2040, 46% of the state’s population will be older than 45, with nearly 1 out of 5 residents aged 60 and older.
As Wyoming’s population ages, nearly every aspect of life in our communities will be impacted, including the need for housing options that promote independence and safety of residents.
Supportive housing options are a cornerstone to aging in place. Housing options that are designed or adapted with home-modifications to accommodate the physical limitations associated with aging, can reduce accidents, assist in addressing caregiving needs, and improve quality of life for older Wyoming residents as well as younger residents who have disabilities.

This Wyoming Home Modification website is being developed by the Wyoming Home Modification Action Coalition (WYHMAC) as a resource for Wyoming residents and professionals who serve older adults and persons with disabilities throughout the state. Its purpose is to increase awareness of the role of supportive housing in healthful living and to facilitate access to home modifications when and where they are needed in our beautiful state.
