Chris Dewey

Chris Dewey, PhD, DACM, LAc, is a graduate of Traditional Chinese Medicine from both the Academy of Oriental Medicine at Austin and the Pacific College of Health Sciences. Chris obtained his master’s from AOMA and his Doctorate in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine from PCHS. Chris is a Licensed Acupuncturist (LAc #004) in the State of Wyoming, and a board-certified practitioner holding Diplomate status in Oriental Medicine from NCCAOM (National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine). Additionally, Chris serves as the current President of the Wyoming Acupuncture Society.

Chris obtained his PhD in Geology from Memorial University of Newfoundland. Chris became a university professor at Mississippi State University with his primary faculty position in the Department of Geosciences, but also held an adjunct position as a martial artist in the Department of Kinesiology. Additionally, Chris was a member of the Shackouls Honors Faculty, and served the College of Arts and Sciences as Director of the General Science degree program.

Chris took early retirement to enroll at AOMA Graduate School for Integrative Medicine. While he was a student at AOMA, Chris also served as a member of the adjunct faculty and taught the Practice Management class. Since moving to Wyoming, Chris completed his second doctorate at Pacific College of Health Sciences, in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine.

Outside of his clinical practice, Chris holds significant black belt rank in several martial arts disciplines and currently teaches classes in both Taiji and Qigong arts as well as classes in Traditional Ju Jutsu. Chris is also a published author of nine books, including five books of poetry and four books about coaching martial arts.

Chris moved to Laramie in 2016 to establish his clinical practice in Oriental Medicine, enjoys living close to nature and being of service in the community.
