OCTOBER, 2024

  • 10/31 - 11/2  NDiSTEM Conference

NDiSTEM is the largest multidisciplinary and multicultural STEM diversity conference in the country, SACNAS' premier conference is a gathering which serves to equip, empower, and energize participants for their academic and professional paths in STEM. Over the course of the event, college-level through professional attendees are immersed in cutting-edge STEM research, professional development sessions, motivational keynote speakers, and the Academic & Career Expo, as well as multicultural celebrations and traditions, and an inclusive and welcoming community of peers, mentors, and role models. Launch of mural project inspired by the traditional buffalo migration path from Canada to Northern Mexico.

  • 11/2  The Buffalo Story Film Screening, Berry Biodiversity Center, UW Campus

Screening of the film from 4:00 - 6:00 PM with a panel discussion and complimentary food/drinks.

  • 11/14  South Dakota Indian Education Summit, Pierre South Dakota

The theme of the 2024 annual South Dakota Indian Education Summit is Woksape nahan Wookannige Ptaya Najin Au [Knowledge and Understanding brings Unity]. This summit is focused on education, health and well-being of youth through embracing and teaching the history and culture of the Oceti Sakowin Oyate. Additional seminars involve development of mental, social, and spiritual growth. This year’s summit will consist of one day with multiple breakout sessions in the afternoon. Presenters will offer tools and resources for use to ensure that today’s youth can achieve success both in school and in society. https://www.southdakotaies.com/

Shared Horizons Conference 2024
