Have a question and need to speak with your advisor? Below are a set of frequently asked questions (FAQs) pertaining to academic advising in the UW Division of Kinesiology and Health and the answers you might need. Be sure to check with your advisor if you don't find the answer you need.

Academic Advising FAQs

  1. Your PERC number will be issued to you by your assigned advisor upon the completion of the following:
    1. Complete ‘Plan Ahead’ for the upcoming semester
    2. Scheduled/attended Advising appointment
  1. The general order for Fall/Spring semester registration follows the typical order. The full distribution of registration days falls over the course of approximately 6 weeks:
    1. Priority (for identified specialized student populations)
    2. Seniors                (90+ earned credits)
    3. First Year             (0-29 earned credits)
    4. Juniors                  (60-89 earned credits)
    5. Sophomores       (30-59 earned credits)

  1. Yes! Many students have found that using a bike or scooter alleviates some of the travel time, or, communicating with instructors, should concerns arise.

Students seeking accommodations should communicate with the necessary parties (Disability Support Services and the respective instructors)

  1. Students can find the pre-reqs listed in the UW Catalog, or, within the course description (within the course listing on WyoWeb)
  1. Internship: can be completed after:
    1. Student successfully completes KIN 3024: Health and Fitness Assessment
    2. Student identifies and secures the internship
    3. Student is close to/at Senior class status
