If you are trying to register for a math course via WyoWeb, but you are receiving
the message "Please visit the <a>href=https://www.uwyo.edu/mathstats/registration/index.html",
this means that open registration for math courses is now over.
In order to add a math course to your schedule, or to change sections, you will need to complete a manual registration form.
Click the LARGE BLUE "Registration Request Form" Link at the top of the page. The
form will not be available while registration is still open.
About a week prior to the start of classes, we check to ensure that all enrolled students meet the prerequisite requirements of the course. If a student does not have the necessary prerequisite, an Administrative Drop Warning is sent to their UW email address. This notice includes possible reasons for the notice and instructions to avoid being dropped.
Administrative Drop: About 1 - 2 days prior to the start of classes, all math course registration via WyoWeb is closed. Prerequisites are checked again and anyone not meeting the requirements are administratively dropped from the course.
Closed Registration: Once the administrative drops are complete students may be added to a course or change sections of a course by completing a Registration Request Form.
Registration Request Form: During the add/drop period, after registration has been closed, students may request to be added to a course, or to change sections of a course, by completing the registration form. (Link is at the top of this page) Please Note: When requesting a change of section, do not drop yourself from the course, we will add you to one and drop you from the other in one transaction, this way you do not lose your current seat in the event your desired section is full.
Reasons you may have been administratively dropped - See a List of common reasons.
What is the Administrative drop? It is a tool used by the department to remove a student from enrolled status in a specific course. The drop notice will be proceeded by a warning to the student's UW email account, informing the student of the risk and acceptable resolutions to the problem. If the student acts quickly to resolve the issue, then the drop is avoided; however if the warning is not responded to or the student is unable to comply with the resolution the student will receive an administrative drop notice.
The two (2) most common reason for administrative drop are related to prerequisite requirements. They are identified below along with some pro-active resolutions to prevent this problem before it occurs:
