Parallel Auditory Processing in Pallid Bat

Graduate Neuroscience Program - Fuzessery Lab

Research:

Neuroethological approach to information processing in the vertebrate auditory system, using behavioral, psychophysical, neurophysiological and neuroanatomical approaches to unravel the neural substrates for sound localization, echolocation and recognition of communication signals. Current research focuses on parallel information processing in the central auditory system of the pallid bat, a species that uses both echolocation and passive hearing to detect and locate prey.
