At least 16 students will participate in the University of Wyoming multicultural graduation ceremony Thursday, Dec. 5, at 3 p.m. in the Wyoming Union Ballroom.
During the ceremony, the UW International Students and Scholars office will give each graduate a stole that represents the flag of his or her home country. The Multicultural Affairs office will present graduates with kente-style woven stoles that include colors and symbols reflecting the graduates’ ethnicity or culture.
“Multicultural graduation is a wonderful program to celebrate the semester’s many multicultural and international graduates,” says Danee Hunzie, assistant director of admissions. She says the celebration can be viewed via WYOCAST (https://wyocast.uwyo.edu/WyoCast/Catalog/Full/b3edf27d-f1a3-4752-b149-e95d7c7dd956/), allowing many of the students’ families from distant countries to participate.
