A virtual institute, titled “Interrupt and Dismantle Racism,” will take place at the University of Wyoming Thursday, Feb. 22, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. in Room 123 of the College of Business Building.
The event is free and open to faculty, staff, students and community members. It’s sponsored by UW’s Social Justice Research Center and the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
Kathy Obear, a consultant with the firm Alliance for Change, will lead the virtual institute, addressing “the dynamics of racism, whiteness and the critical role of whites to partner with people of color to create greater social justice.”
The event is geared toward existing white “change agents” and potential allies who may not have much experience with race, racism and partnering with people of color to promote and create opportunities for racial justice.
To register for the virtual institute, visit www.uwyo.edu/diversity or call 766-6672.
