UW Planetarium Hosts Cowboy Sandbox, Dome After Dark Events to Close Out March

The University of Wyoming campus community can enjoy an audiovisual/musical performance doubleheader of sorts -- Cowboy Sandbox and Dome After Dark -- to close out this month’s schedule at the UW Harry C. Vaughan Planetarium Saturday, March 29.

UW Nordic Ski Cowboys Take National Lead and Cowgirls Second

Both University of Wyoming Nordic ski teams had rousing starts to begin the United States Collegiate Ski and Snowboard Association (USCSA) Collegiate Championships in Bend, Ore., Tuesday, with the Cowboys claiming the national lead on the opening day, while the Cowgirls were second.

University of Wyoming President Ed Seidel has been appointed as the chair of the Mountain West Conference Board of Directors, succeeding Keith Whitfield of the University of Nevada-Las Vegas, who resigned his presidency last week. According to an established rotation, the UW president will chair the Mountain West Conference Board of Directors through academic year 2028.

UW’s Kotlarek Named President’s Distinguished Scholar

Katelyn Kotlarek, an assistant professor in the Division of Communication Disorders in the University of Wyoming’s College of Health Sciences, has been selected as a President’s Distinguished Scholar.

UW Student Violinist Takes Top Jacoby Competition Prize

Violinist Michael Vitanza, a University of Wyoming student from Pinedale, was named the winner of last week’s annual Jacoby Competition, which featured seven UW student soloists.
