Steps to Requesting a Reissued/Duplicate Diploma
There are three (3) steps to request a reissued/duplicate diploma.
- Email us requesting a diploma. The email will require the following information (feel free to copy the questions
into the email and answer them there):
- Graduate’s name as it should appear on the diploma
- Graduation date
- Which degree the diploma is for, if more than one was received from UW?
- Why the reissued diploma is needed?
- What is the status of the original?
- Whether the diploma requires notarization.
- Note: The original diploma was not notarized. Notarization is normally only needed in specific cases. Please be aware that requesting that the duplicate/replacement diploma be notarized will increase the processing time for the request.
- A contact phone number or email address
- The address to which the diploma should be mailed
- Graduate’s signature (can be scanned or a photo attachment)
- Pay a the replacement/reissue fee. The charge for a duplicate/replacement diploma is $50.00 per diploma, payable online at the Office of the Registrar payment site. Once on this page, click on Registrars Items and follow the instructions for the Replacement Diploma. This fee includes standard processing and the diploma will be shipped using U.S. Postal Service First-Class postage. Expedited services may be available for an additional fee. Please inquire about such services.
- Wait for your diploma to arrive! In general, it will take 3-5 weeks for a diploma to arrive at your requested mailing address once the request has been approved.
