Read about bear safety and know how to correctly use bear spray. You can also watch the bear safety demonstration held at the station during the 2016 season.
While you are visiting the station, keep food put away, discard trash appropriately, and ask station staff if you have any questions or concerns.
The research station is 6800 feet above sea level. Read about high altitude health issues and be prepared to prevent altitude sickness.
The research station sits entirely within Grand Teton National Park. This is a unique and wild area that comes with its own local hazards. Be prepared! Review Safety Information on the NPS - Grand Teton National Park website before your visit.
