Move-in Day
Saddle Up will allow our first-time, full-time students to arrive early to campus ahead of the fall semester. That's right! You'll get to settle into the residence halls over one week early. Students arrive on move-in day to check in, move into the halls, and start their UW journey! Saddle Up consists of required programming and coursework, as well as optional activities and community-building events before fall classes begin on August 25.
First-time, full-time students who have received an exemption from living in the UW residence halls will still be required to participate in programming and meals during the full week of Saddle Up. Housing and dining details for the week of Saddle Up for these students can be found on our costs page.

Prepare for Move-in Day
Check in at the Saddle Up Station
Students living on campus check in at the Saddle Up tent the same day as move in. After Saddle Up check-in, you may begin moving into your room and unpacking. Parents and family members looking for a place to relax and recharge are welcome to unwind at our Parent Basecamp! Explore the many helpful resources available in the basement of Washakie during move-in and enjoy refreshments in the company of other Cowboy parents.
Moving in late? Contact us at saddleup@uwyo.edu or (307) 766-5765 to get started!
Living Off-Campus?
Students living off-campus still check in at the Saddle Up tent between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM on move-in day. After Saddle Up check-in, you'll be ready to get started!
We will be hosting an Off-Campus Mingle on Move-In Day, mimicking the first floor meeting that students in the halls experience. This is a great chance to get to know other students living off-campus! All incoming off-campus students are required to attend this event.
Optional Weekend Activities
Looking to relax and recharge with the UW community before the fall semester begins? Once Saddle Up is over, join us for a weekend of fun on campus! Here are some campus activities from previous years:
Cowboy Swing Dancing: Cowboy Country Swing Dancing, a student-led club on campus, will provide free lessons and lots of time to line and swing dance with your new friends!
Cowboy Carnival: Stop by Frat Mall to participate in games that include bounce houses and other carnival favorites!
Free Movie Tickets: Catch a free movie at Regal Cinema, close to campus!
