Saddle Up Costs

Students entering their first semester at UW will be enrolled in the one-credit Saddle Up course at New Student Days or during online summer advising meetings. Financial aid may be available to students who require assistance with fees for this program. All required fees and costs are included in your Fall tuition bill.

Saddle Up is required for all first-time, full-time students attending the University of Wyoming.

One Credit Hour

UW follows a block tuition model. The one credit hour Saddle Up course is counted toward student fall courseloads for financial aid and block tuition purposes. Please contact Student Financial Services for any questions.

Housing/Dining Cost

There is a $400 fee for meals and housing for the week of Saddle Up. Students who have an approved exemption from living in the residence halls for the semester will still be required to participate in Saddle Up programming, including mealtimes. There is a dining cost of $220 for off-campus students regardless of use.

Financial Aid & Scholarships

Some financial aid, awards, and scholarships you have received as part of your attendance to the University of Wyoming may cover your Saddle Up fees. If you are experiencing financial hardship, please contact our team in the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid.

Course Fee Assistance
