The UW School of Energy Resources is pleased to host the Greater Green River and Wind River Basin CORE-CM Annual Forum. The forum seeks to bring together industry professionals and project stakeholders to provide project updates and an opportunity for robust discussions to advance the project. The forum will include high level speakers, as well as breakout sessions covering different topics.

2022 Landscape Discussion on Energy Law & Policy in the Rockies
Friday, October 14, 2022 

The University of Wyoming School of Energy Resources and the College of Law's Center for Law and Energy Resources in the Rockies are once again excited to bring together stakeholders with collaborative interests to engage in a thought provoking discussion on key energy topics currently at play in Wyoming, the region and the nation. This one-day symposium has an exciting line-up of speakers sure to facilitate robust discussion on issues warranting attention for securing a sustainable natural resource future.

Topics of the 2022 discussion include: Federal Energy Development in Wyoming, Developments in Hydrogen Energy Development, Oil & Gas Law and Policy, Federal and Wyoming Carbon Capture Utilization and Storage Law and Policy, Renewable Energy Policy Update, Tribal Energy Updates

9H Energy Competition

9H Research Foundation has teamed up with the School of Energy Resources (SER) to offer a $4,000 research energy competition.

Students entered in the competition will spend the spring semester developing an energy project on a designated topic addressing a critical energy need. The competition will be judged at the end of the semester for a cash prize by a panel of UW energy experts.

Baker Hughes Competition

The University of Wyoming School of Energy Resources (SER), Baker Hughes and the Wyoming Energy Authority (WEA) are collaborating to offer students the opportunity to innovate in the decarbonization space through a $5,000 ideation innovation contest.

The “Decarbonization Prize” is meant to focus on discovering innovative applications for existing products and services or to bring forward the new concepts for cutting edge, transformative, and disruptive technologies that will decarbonize various industries.
