Wyoming License Plate FAQ

The State of Wyoming is in the process of transitioning from the “Green River” to “State Flag” plate style as shown below. Wyoming offers several different specialty plates that will be changed out as well.

Please let our office know as soon as possible if you have received new license plates. Even if your license plate number remains the same, there is a strong possibility that your license plate now has a “P” or another character separating the county number from the reset of the number. Our LPR system will read the plate differently than before.

To ensure correct formatting of your license plate, we ask that you simply take a picture of your new license plate and email it to tps@uwyo.edu.  Please be sure to include the make, model, and color of your vehicle as well as contact information in your email. 

You can access your account information through the Transportation Services Parking Portal. 

• Login using your username and password.

• Click on PERMITS in the upper left-hand corner and View Your Permits.

• Click on your active parking permit number.

• The vehicles linked to your permit are listed under Associated Vehicles.

• Vehicles can be added to your permit from this screen as well.  You may have up to 3 vehicles linked to your permit.  However, only one vehicle may be parked on campus at a time. 

• Please note that you must contact our office to edit or remove a vehicle. 

Yes, you can add a vehicle to your permit through the Transportation Services Parking Portal.  Please make sure that you format your license plates correctly.

Pro Tip: Take a picture of your license plate before getting started.

• Click on your active parking permit number.

• Click on Add Vehicles To Permit at the bottom of the screen.  If the button does not appear for you, the maximum of 3 vehicles has already been reached on your permit.  Please contact our office.

• You may have up to 3 vehicles linked to your permit.  However, only one vehicle may be parked on campus at a time. 

• Please note that you must contact our office to edit or remove a vehicle. 

• If you add a vehicle to your account only, please be sure to also link it to your permit!
