Accessible Parking

Accessible Symbol Accessible Parking For Individuals with Disabilities

All accessible parking spaces on campus require a valid state or city-issued disability placard or license plate. In addition, most accessible spaces require either a valid UW parking permit or payment through ParkMobile. These spaces are dual-use, allowing eligible patrons to either use their UW parking permit or pay the hourly rate through ParkMobile, whichever is most convenient.

Complimentary accessible parking spaces are available in designated shuttle parking lots. All UWYO Roundup transit buses are equipped with lifts and securements to accommodate mobility devices. (Link to Transit)

The University of Wyoming also offers a Paratransit Service for individuals who are unable to use the fixed-route transit system due to a disability. For more information, contact (307) 766-6686.

Short Term Parking

For short-term use, accessible parking for individuals with disabilities is available through one of the following options:

Day Permits: When a day permit is used in conjunction with a state/city disability placard or disability license plate, it will allow a vehicle to park in any (symbol) accessible, Gold, Brown, Orange, Red, Purple, or Green or accessible meter space on a daily basis for $7.50/day.

ParkMobile: During the summer of 2026, all accessible parking spaces on campus will be converted to use with either a UW Permit or payment through ParkMobile in conjunction with a state disability placard.  Metered spaces and ParkMobile payment options for individuals with disabilities are located throughout campus. These metered spaces are marked with a universal disability symbol and require a displayed state/city disability placard or disability license plate. Accessible metered spaces are indicated on the parking map

Free Parking: Free short-term accessible parking is available at the remote shuttle parking lots located at 15th & Spring Creek and 30th & Willett. All of the UWYO Roundup buses are fully accessible; equipped with lifts and wheelchair tiedowns. Visit the transit page for more details

  • In order to qualify for a UW disability parking permit, an individual must first obtain either a state or city disability placard. We always recommend obtaining the state placard as the city disability placard can only be used with the Laramie City limits. A State of Wyoming disability placard can be obtained by following the steps located on the Wyoming Department of Transportation website. A City of Laramie disability placard may be obtained by contacting the City Manager’s Office. Please note that Transportation Services also accepts state disability placards from any US state.

  • Order your UW parking permit either online or in-person at 1602 E. Spring Creek. Select the disability parking permit for the “zone” that you will most often frequent.

  • Provide a copy of your state or city disability placard to Transportation Services by one of the following methods:

      1. Stop into the Transportation Services office located at 1602 E. Spring Creek.
(You may also order your permit at the same time.)
      2. Email a scanned copy to tps@uwyo.edu.
      3. Mail a copy to UW Transportation Services, 1000 E. University Ave. Dept 4313, Laramie WY 82071.

Do not hesitate to reach out to the Transportation Services office if you need any help with this process.  We can be reached at 307-766-9800 or tps@uwyo.edu
