Monday, Oct. 26, 7:30 p.m. -- The UW Faculty Chamber group will perform diverse, new music in "New Frontiers: Scores and Surfeits" in the Fine Arts Center concert hall. Tickets can be purchased for $7 for the public and $5 for students and seniors through the Fine Arts Center box office at (307) 766-6666 or at the Web site www.uwyo.edu/finearts.
Wednesday, Oct. 28, 8 p.m. -- Denver group "Telling Stories" and UW artists-in-residence will perform music and readings at Coal Creek Coffee, 110 E. Grand Ave., in downtown Laramie. Donations will be accepted at the door.
Wednesday, Oct. 28, 8 p.m. -- Teton Gravity Research will show its latest ski and snowboard film, "Re:Session," in the UW College of Arts and Sciences auditorium. Free.
Thursday, Oct. 29, 3:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. -- The final opportunities to comment on the University of Wyoming Long Range Development Plan recommendations. The campus workshop will be at 3:30 p.m. at the Wyoming Union West Yellowstone Ballroom, Room 220 of the Union. The Laramie community workshop will be at 7 p.m. at the Laramie Recreation Center conference room, 920 Boulder Drive. Both workshops are open to anyone on campus and within the Laramie community.
Thursday, Oct. 29, 7:30 p.m. -- The UW Wind Ensemble will perform in the Fine Arts Center concert hall. Free.
Friday, Oct. 30, 4-8 p.m. -- UW presents "Safe Treat," a safe and warm alternative to door-to-door trick-or-treating for the Laramie community. Candy, games, and activities will be provided in the Wyoming Union from 4-6 p.m., and in the UW Greek houses and residence halls from 6-8 p.m.
Friday, Oct. 30, and Saturday, Oct. 31, 7:30 p.m. -- The UW Department of Theatre and Dance and the UW Playwrights will present "Heart in Hand," a new work by UW senior playwriting student Chris Browne, Fine Arts Center Studio Theatre. All tickets cost $5.
Friday, Oct. 30, 7:30 p.m. -- The New Frontiers Festival of New Music will conclude in the Fine Arts Center concert hall with performances of Composer-in-Residence Eric Sawyer and UW composer Anne Guzzo's new works. Tickets can be purchased for $7 for the public and $5 for students and seniors through the Fine Arts Center box office at (307) 766-6666 or at the Web site www.uwyo.edu/finearts.
Saturday, Oct. 31, 7-11 p.m. -- Swing Club will host its annual Halloween swing dance at the Alice Hardie Stevens Center adjacent to the Laramie Plains Museum. Jitterbug lessons will be from 7-8 p.m. and live music from the David Booker band will be provided from 8-11 p.m. The event includes a costume contest and other raffle giveaways. Free.
