December 22, 2021 — To start the new year, visitors to the University of Wyoming Harry C. Vaughan Planetarium will be exposed to new programs that will allow them to take a solar system vacation; discover the star knowledge of Indigenous peoples of the West; receive an update on the Parker Solar Probe’s mission; and learn about the planned journey of Artemis I to the moon in the spring.

December 22, 2021 — Three student-led teams from the University of Wyoming that recently pitched their business concepts to a panel of independent judges have received funding from UW’s Fisher Innovation Launchpad.
December 21, 2021 — The U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Fossil Energy and Carbon Management recently granted up to $644,000 for the University of Wyoming School of Energy Resources (SER) to assess the economic impacts of fossil energy production in Wyoming and evaluate opportunities and research needs to deploy clean hydrogen technologies.

December 20, 2021 — The University of Wyoming has received a remarkable private gift of $5 million from UW alumnus Lawrence “Larry” Carrell to establish a named deanship in the College of Engineering and Applied Science -- the second named deanship in the university’s history after the John P. Ellbogen Foundation named the College of Education deanship earlier this year.

December 16, 2021 — A state and federal effort to map big-game migration corridors in the American West received a major grant from the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation (RMEF), one of the country’s largest big-game conservation organizations. The gift will help map iconic elk migrations across the region, stimulating public and private conservation to benefit wildlife populations.
