Many students who participated in the UW Annual Student Juried Exhibition went on to other accomplishments. Here’s a list of a few successful graduates.
Abbie Miller, 2002 juried show, Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) ’04, received a post-baccalaureate certificate from Maryland Institute College of Art and a Master of Fine Arts (M.F.A.) from Cranbrook Academy of Art in 2007. She has exhibited in the juried traveling exhibition Hot House: Expanding the Field of Fiber at Cranbrook in 2007; debuted a clothing line from her company, AM Renegade, at Portland Fashion Week in 2010; exhibited as a finalist in the Contemporary Northwest Art Awards at the Portland Art Museum (2013); and had a sculpture purchased for their permanent collection. In 2014, Miller was selected for the visual exhibition at the American Academy of Arts and Letters in New York City. Miller was given the Willard L. Metcalf Award, and the academy also purchased one of her sculptures.
Michael T. Hurley, 2010 juried show, B.F.A. ’09, received his M.F.A. in art from California State University, Chico in 2014, served as the Chico Ceramic Instructor of Record, and displayed work at the Chico University Art Gallery. In addition to other exhibitions, Hurley’s work appeared in the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts (NCECA) National Student Juried Exhibition in 2013 and 2014, and in the Drink This! The Workhouse International Ceramic Cup Show in 2014. Since receiving his M.F.A. degree, Hurley has accepted an assistantship position with ceramic artist Jun Kaneko.
Tessa Dallarosa, 2011 juried show, B.F.A. ’12, is a second-year M.F.A. student at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
Gabrielle Reeves, 2011 juried show, B.F.A. ’10, exhibited in several galleries, including 2013 showings at the Seten Cappadocia Cultural Center in Turkey and at two Casper, Wyo., galleries: the Corridor Gallery and Goodstein Art Gallery.
Madison Becker, 2011 juried show, B.F.A. ’12, is currently working on her M.F.A. in the area of printmaking at Utah State University.
Haylee Bolinger, 2010 juried show, B.F.A. ’10, has presented artwork in festivals, solo exhibitions and group shows and is an M.F.A. candidate for sculpture at Arizona State University.
Sarah Dahlinger, 2010 juried show, B.F.A.’11, completed a post-baccalaureate at the University of Wyoming and now is a printmaking M.F.A. candidate at Ohio University.
Cole Lemaster, 2013 juried show, B.A. ’13, is a designer at Stein IAS, a New York City agency.
