These workshops provide specialized certification training based on Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) specifications and procedures. They are designed as a review and certification program, not as introductory courses.
The certification process has two parts:

Online Learning – Participants attend live Zoom sessions that include course-specific instruction, demonstrations, and preparation for the exam. Written tests are taken through an online testing platform.

Hands-On Performance Exam – After the online portion, participants complete an in-person exam to demonstrate practical skills.
Successful completion of both parts meets WYDOT’s certification requirements for technicians working on Quality Control/Quality Assurance (QC/QA) projects. WYDOT will issue a certificate upon passing the written and performance exams. Technicians must hold certification in order to work on WYDOT asphalt and concrete projects.
All certifications are valid for five years.
These workshops are designed for individuals who need WYDOT certification to conduct or oversee materials testing on Quality Control/Quality Assurance (QC/QA) projects.
- The class materials downloaded or printed, available at the bottom of the page
- A computer with a camera, microphone, and speakers for full class interaction.
- Access to a printer for course materials and exam worksheets.
- The ability to download and save PDF files to your computer.
- Zoom installed on your computer (Download Zoom)
- A calculator with the STAT function and knowledge of how to use it.
- Day 1: 1–5 pm
- Day 2: 8 am–4 pm
- Day 3: Exam, 8 am–Noon
This certification is offered once per year, with priority registration given to individuals assigned to upcoming WYDOT volumetrics projects.
To be eligible, participants must already hold certifications in Soil & Aggregate and Asphalt (verification required before registration)
Register early — only 20 slots are available. First come, first serve basis, if there is not enough room you will be added to a waitlist in case a spot opens up.
