Update on Restructuring Plan/Program Review process

On July 14, 2021, the President and Provost presented a proposal to the UW Board of Trustees on Restructuring UW for Wyoming’s Future.  This proposal included a request to review academic programs for reorganization, consolidation, reduction and discontinuance and a preliminary recommendation for restructuring academic programs at UW.  The Provost appointed several committees to serve an advisory role in reviewing the proposed changes and to provide a report to him.  Based on interim reports from the committees, the Provost made some adjustments to the preliminary plan and presented those changes to the Board of Trustees at their meeting on September 15-17, 2021.  Final reports from the review committees were submitted to the Provost on October 1, 2021.  Along with feedback received from internal and external stakeholders, these final reports will be taken under advisement as the Provost prepares his final recommendation.  Consistent with UW Regulation 2-13, the final recommendation will be presented to the Board of Trustees within a maximum of 120 days from the time of the initial request.  A public presentation will be made during the Board of Trustees meeting on November 17-19, 2021.
