FAQ

What does a UWAA membership include?

There are many benefits to you when you join the UWAA. There are auto, home, and renters' insurance benefits; moving discounts; a variety of alumni travel programs; and Troon Golf discounts just to name a few. Click here to see the full benefit list.

Is my membership tax deductible?

Yes; membership dues and general donations are fully tax deductible. Please retain your membership receipt for tax documentation.

I’m searching for a former classmate.  Can you help?

UWAA can assist you in reconnecting with classmates through our referral process.  Our privacy policy does not allow disbursement of personal information. We are able, however to forward information on your behalf. Let us help you find your classmate.

Do I have to be an alum to purchase a UW license plate?

Anyone who has a registered passenger vehicle or motorcycle in the state of Wyoming is eligible to participate in this program.  Plates may be purchased through the UWAA for a one-time fee of $130 and will be valid through 2016.  $100 of the fee goes to UW scholarships and $30 is a processing fee for WyDOT. The $130 plate fee is not tax deductible.

You don’t need to wait for your current tags to expire.  Your current renewal date will remain the same – you will just be sporting new brown and gold plates.  Applications are available at your local county treasurer’s office or by contacting the University of Wyoming Alumni Association at 307-766-4166. You can also download the license plate application here.

I want to host an alumni event in my hometown.  What is the process?

Give us a call! We will visit about what you want to do and how much involvement you want to have. Possibilities include golf outings, wine tastings, TV watch parties to cheer on the Cowboys or Cowgirls, or just having fellow UW alumni meet at a local gathering place for a reception and/or dinner. Association staff may attend and provide guest speakers.

After we have agreed on the where and when, the UW Alumni Association will do the rest! We will mail invitations, e-mail, post announcements on FaceBook and Twitter to get as much interest generated as possible. We will send you a packet with everything you will need to make the event a success!

I’ve recently moved and need to update my contact information.

On every page, there is an “Update My Address” link to the right, just click there and complete the form. You can also e-mail uwalumni@uwyo.edu or call the Alumni House at (307) 766-4166.
