Country Living: An Introduction to Small Acreage Ownership

Join the Clear Creek Conservation District and Johnson County Extension on April 8th, 2023 from 10am-1pm at the Buffalo Fire Hall (970 Volunteer Lane, Buffalo, WY) for a mini-workshop on small acreage management fundamentals.

Topics include building your property plan, assessing water & soil resources, managing problem weeds, grazing approaches to prevent overuse, and reducing conflict during wildlife interactions. Lunch will be provided for registered attendees.

Friday:

  • Geodesic Dome Build

Hoop Houses, High Tunnels, and Geodesic Dome structures work
very well to extend the growing season in Wyoming. Jeff Edwards,
UW Extension, Educator will be conducting a hands-on build
workshop of a 22-ft Geodesic dome. 6-10 volunteers from the
local area who are interested in using or building these types of
structures are invited to participate – others can watch and heckle.
Jeff will show up with the pre-built frame and all the tools
required. The whole process to build one here in Rawlins will take
approximately 6-8 hours, weather depending.

Join us on the evening of June 19th (Location: McGuire Ranch north of Laramie off of Hwy 34) and the morning of July 15th (It will be in the Snowy Range west of Laramie) for plant walks around the Laramie area!  More information will be added at a later date.

 

Working Lands Workshop featuring Nicole Masters

Join us for the next event in the Working Lands series on soil health, regenerative agriculture, adaptive grazing, cover crops, and other multidisciplinary natural resource topics.

Day 1 of the workshop will include presentations and discussion at the Kinnison Theater on the Sheridan College Campus.

Day 2 will be in the field at Rock Springs Ranch near Decker, MT, with a limited number of spots available.

REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. Register Here  You must attend Day 1 in order to attend Day 2. We recommend registering early to save your spot.
