Wenyong Wang

Dr. WangDr. Wenyong Wang is an assistant professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy.

Dr. Wang's research interest is the application of nanostructures especially metal oxide nanowires for solar energy conversion. Electronic transport in crystalline nanowires is several orders of magnitude faster than percolation conduction through, for instance, a random nanoparticle thin film. Therefore, nanowire-based photovoltaic structures ensure a better, faster collection of carriers generated in the devices, and are promising candidates for power applications. Dr. Wang's research group focuses on the synthesis of binary and ternary metal oxides nanowires, fabrication of nanowire-based solar cells, and investigation of charge generation, transport, and recombination in these PV structures.
