No. All UW degrees have the same accreditation, the same plan of study, and equivalent expectations, so how a degree was completed is not included on a diploma or transcript. Course delivery is included under individual courses on a transcript.

UW has fall, winter, spring, and summer courses. The start and end dates of each semester or term are the same for in-person and online courses. Some specialized programs (e.g. MBA, RN-BSN and more) offer 8-week courses with registration occurring at the beginning of each semester. Most online programs can begin in any term, with the exception of a few programs that begin in the summer or fall semesters only (please reference the individual program or department for more details on program start dates).

When applying for admission, a student will select a major and whether to pursue that program in an in-person or online (when available) format.

After being accepted, you will be contacted by an academic advisor within the department that houses your major. If you have not heard from an academic advisor upon learning of your admission, please contact the appropriate academic department for further guidance. Please note that all Undeclared students are advised by staff within the Advising, Career and Exploratory Studies (ACES) Center.

You register and enroll the same way you would for in-person courses, which is described to you by an academic advisor. After you are admitted into your program of choice and pay any required enrollment fees, you will be contacted by an academic advisor. If you are not looking to pursue a degree or certificate program now, you may apply as a non-degree seeking student. Undergraduate and graduate-level students can enroll in undergraduate courses; students applying for graduate non-degree status must provide proof of a completed bachelor’s degree. No more than 12 credit hours can be applied toward the pursuit of an undergraduate or graduate degree in the future. Non-degree students are not permitted to be international students or on suspension at UW or elsewhere, and are not eligible for Financial Aid.

Of course, take as many courses as you like. Some students accelerate their plan of study by taking additional courses each term, and some have the time in their day to take one course a semester or year. Our programs fit your schedule.

Yes! Test scores and transcripts must be official, and cannot come directly from you as the applicant. Please submit this official documentation to the Office of Admissions, where it will be reviewed to award college credit as deemed appropriate.

Visit WyoWeb to create your account. Click on the blue text in the upper right corner that says Obtain Username and Initial Password. Next, enter your last name and date of birth as they appear on your application for admission. Then enter your university W# (found in your acceptance email) and click Submit. You will be assigned a temporary password, which you will be prompted to change upon your first login.

After creating your WyoWeb account, login to WyoWeb and click the Email icon. You will use your WyoWeb username and unique password that you created in your first login to access your email account. Please check this email account as soon as you activate it, as this will become the main source of communication for new students.

You will be considered a transfer applicant and will be required to submit official transcripts for any college(s) you attended since last being enrolled at UW. Review the admissions criteria and process for Returning Students.

UW will require all transcripts from any previously attended institution, including international institutions; these documents must be official, certified/attested and sent in a sealed envelope directly from the institution, or via an evaluation agency. Please review more details about admissions policies for international coursework and degrees. An evaluation of the documentation provided will be completed by the Office of Admissions.
