Experiential Learning Opportunities
At the University of Wyoming, we highly value hands-on experiential learning. In addition to your courses, you're invited to engage in credit-earning opportunities outside of the classroom. The credits offered varies with each opportunity, so please read the information available on each page carefully.
Six types of clinics are available, each designed to provide an in-depth learning experience surrounding a topic. Topics include Defender Aid, Prosecution Assistance, Civil Legal Services, Family and Child Legal Advocacy Clinic, International Human Rights and Energy, Environmental and Natural Resources.

Estate Planning Practicum
The Estate Planning Practicum provides law students with experience in legal services, including simple wills and estate planning advice, to low income individuals in Wyoming

Summer Trial Institute
Summer Trial Institute provides students with an rigorous training experience in the courtroom, while interacting and gaining feedback from faculty and experienced practitioners.

Legal externships allow students to select a firm, organization, or agency of their choice to gain experience practicing law in a work setting.
