1-Year On Campus MBA

Do you want to start your own company or do you have a specific job in mind, but are unsure of whether or not you have the right skills or experience? The UW MBA program offers a 1-Year On Campus MBA tailored to those looking to gain the needed experience and business insights required in today’s competitive marketplace. This accelerated one-year program is designed to provide students with a breadth and depth of business knowledge through classroom work and extensive experiential learning. Our students work on cross-functional teams with real companies on real projects. With the focus being on leadership and management development, the UW MBA program is dedicated to providing students with opportunities for success.  

In addition to the core curriculum, all full-time campus based students will complete our MBA Orientation, Experiential Leadership Program, annual Jackson Leadership Summit, professional development workshops, and an international management experience (abroad) as part of our program requirements.  

 

Core Curriculum

Students admitted to the 1-Year On Campus MBA and any of the full-time dual degree programs will complete the following core curriculum courses: 

MBA Core Requirements (27 credit hours) – Required of all MBA students as well as all Dual Degree MBA students.

• MBAM 5101 MBA Foundations. 1. (begins in July, online/asynchronous)

• MBAM 5202 Data and Decision Modeling. 3.

• MBAM 5104 Organizational Behavior and HRM. 3.

• MBAM 5208 Accounting for Managers. 3. 

• MBAM 5204 Financial Management. 3.

• MBAM 5207 Marketing Management. 3.

• MBAM 5102 Operations Management. 3.

• MBAM 5330 Global Business Environment. 3. 

• MBAM 5106 Decision Making I. 1.

• MBAM 5209 Decision Making II. 1.

• MBAM 5106 Professional Development I. 0.

• MBAM 5206 Professional Development II. 0.

• MBAM 5305 Strategic Management. 3. (final summer course, includes international travel)

MBA Elective Requirements

• MBA-MBA students, including dual degree students, must take an additional 9 credit hours of 4000 or 5000 level College of Business courses (3 credit hours outside the College of Business may be approved on a case-by-case basis).
  
  

*Note: A maximum of 12 credit hours may be taken at the 4000 level for graduate credit.
