A Rogue device is a device that is running a DHCP server. Typically it will hand out bad IP address and will not allow other devices to connect to the Internet. UWIT and ResNet disable the ports of such devices so that quality of server for all costumers can be maintained.
If you suspect that your port might have been disabled by such an event, please remove the device from the network and either call ResNet at 766-2989 or email us at email@example.com and we will help you. Depending your Techincal aptitude we will tell you to either disable DHCP or to bring in the device and we will show you how. After we gather the information required we will send up a request to have the port reactivated which could take around two business days.
