ADMISSION PROCESS FOR ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE ENDORSEMENT
If you are currently in a graduate program then you will need to do a Program Change Form form to "add" on the certificate to your transcripts.
To Apply:
- Complete the UW online application
- While filling out the application, the program you will apply for is "Certificate
– ‘ESL’ (Outreach)". Please notify the program coordinator (jshim@uwyo.edu) that you have completed an application to ensure it is reviewed.
*IMPORTANT- The application process requires that your college transcripts be sent
to UW Admissions. You are not required to submit a letter of intent or letters of recommendation. Once your application
is complete, you will be notified via email by admissions of your admission status.
ESL Completion Process
Ready to complete your program? Learn more about required steps from the UW Registrar.
- Declare your Certificate completion date through WyoRecords as early in the semester as possible (or the semester prior). If there are problems
with any of your paperwork at this time, you will be contacted by the Registrar's
office and/or the C&I Office Associate.
- Pay for the certificate through the Cashier's Office.
- To receive the endorsement, contact the Teacher Preparation and Advising Office to obtain your Institutional Recommendation to submit to your state teaching board.
