The early childhood birth to eight endorsement is available to undergraduate students enrolled in the Elementary Education program or post-graduate students with a BA in Elementary Education.
Please note: This program is not for those who completed a BS in Family and Consumer Sciences/Child Development Option. Those students should apply to the the Early Childhood Birth to Five program for more information.
B-8 students must complete a six hour internship in a pre-K setting along with required course work. In addition, undergraduate students must complete the 15 hour residency/student teaching in a primary grade (K-3) setting.
Undergraduates
The candidate must submit the application for enrollment in the endorsement program when taking the first required course for endorsement (usually EDEC 1020 Introduction to Early Childhood Education or FCSC 2121 Child Development for undergraduates). Post-graduates
The candidate must send a $40.00 application fee with application and official transcripts. After submitting your application you will receive formal notification of program admittance.
