Birth to Eight Endorsement Program


Admission Criteria

The early childhood birth to eight endorsement is available to undergraduate students enrolled in the Elementary Education program and working towards a minor in early childhood education. It is also available to post-graduate students with a degree in Elementary Education and a teaching license.

Please note: This program is not for those who completed a degree in another field. Those students should apply to the Early Childhood Birth to Five program.


Endorsement Requirements

Students pursuing the B-8 endorsement, must complete a six hour internship in a birth-five setting along with required course work. In addition, students must complete the 15 hour residency/student teaching in a primary grade (K-3) setting or work in a primary K-3 setting.


Application Process

Undergraduates
Candidates interested in obtaining a B-8 endorsement must first add an early childhood minor. The B-8 endorsement requires a 6 credit hour internship in addition to minor requirements

Post-graduates
The candidate must send an application pay the $40.00 application fee on Touchnet and send official transcripts to program coordinator, Nikki Baldwin, nikb@uwyo.edu. Early Care and Education Center
