undergraduates in laboratories

Undergraduate Employment

The department at any one time has 35 to 50 undergraduate students working in various research and  diagnostic laboratories. The main advantage for students is the hands on experience working in a laboratory using classical and molecular diagnostic tools, doing field research, or contributing to experimental studies.
Working in a laboratory builds strong relationships with mentors, advisors and other students, allowing for more solid letters of recommendation for future career paths. We encourage students to concentrate on their studies during their freshman year so they can make a smooth transition from high school to the university setting.
For employment in research laboratories please contact the primary investigator.
For employment in the diagnostic laboratories please contact our business office  with your resume and information about your interests. A list of interested students is maintained.
