Transfer Admissions Requirements

We’re excited to welcome you to UW! Make sure to check admission requirements, as well as those for scholarships and financial aid. If you’ve earned at least 12 post-high school transfer credits, you may qualify for UW’s transfer commitments.

GPA Requirements

To transfer to UW, you’ll need a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale. If your GPA meets this requirement, you’re on the right track! Keep in mind that some programs may have additional requirements. If you have questions or need guidance, we’re here to help make your transition to UW as smooth as possible!

Transferable Credits

To transfer to UW, you’ll need at least 12 transferable credit hours. If you have fewer than 12, don’t worry—you can still apply! You’ll just need to submit your high school transcript and if you’re under 21, ACT or SAT scores are also required. We’re here to help you through the process, so reach out with any questions as you take the next step toward becoming a Poke!

Transferring Credits

Before you apply, use our Pre-Transfer Credit Evaluation resources to estimate how coursework from a Wyoming community college or an out-of-state institution may transfer to the University of Wyoming. These tools are intended for planning purposes only and are not official.

After you're admitted, send your official transcripts to the Office of Admissions. Our team will complete an official transfer credit evaluation to determine how your credits apply toward your UW degree.
