Interested in teaching your students about the Middle East and North Africa? Or, not a student, but want to learn more? Our program offers several outreach opportunities to personally engage your students and get them interested in Arabic and the MENA region. We hope to engage people with food, music, lectures, presentation, and other creative ways to get Wyoming students and community members interested in the region. Contact our High School/Community Outreach Coordinator, Michael Newman.
STARTALK is a program funded by the NSA to increase the number of U.S citizens learning, speaking, and teaching critical languages. STARTALK is an awarded scholarship and completely FREE to students. The UW STARTALK program is a three-week summer camp in Wyoming that focuses on the Arabic language.
The Arabic & Middle Eastern Studies program has events across Wyoming involving high school students in order to promote cultural or linguistic knowledge. We are happy to work with community organizations as well and can tailor our instruction depending on your organization's needs.
The University of Wyoming will welcome high school students in November 2022 across the West to come to participate to participate in a High School Model Arab league Rocky Mountain Regional Competition.
