Metalsmithing

Jewelry, Metals, Copper, Brass, Silver

The metalsmithing discipline encompasses rich historical traditions and contemporary approaches to fabricating with non-ferrous metals such as copper, brass and silver. Metalsmithing explores body adornment, jewelry and small sculptural forms with an underlying focus on material and processes. Beginner metalsmithing skills including sawing, filing, piercing, rivets, soldering, patinas and hydraulic press forming. More intermediate and advance metalsmithing builds on these basic skills by introducing more specialized techniques such as enameling, lost-wax casting, complex fabrication and hammer forming techniques.
