Printmaking

Woodcut, Intaglio, Screenprint, Lithography

Printmaking is a discipline centered around original works through processes that allow an image to be transferred and reproduced as a printed multiple. Using techniques such as relief, intaglio, lithography and screenprinting, printmakers produce high-quality, limited editions of their own imagery that range from bold colorful screenprints to finely detailed copper etchings. The discipline combines hands-on craftsmanship with conceptual thinking, drawing on both historical traditions and contemporary, digital and photographic methods. Through experimentation with print media, artists develop strong problem-solving skills and technical versatility that translate to creative, commercial and educational applications.
