Art Education

K-12, Education, Teacher, Community, Leadership, Communication

Art education is a discipline that prepares culturally responsive artist-educators and licensed K-12 art teachers to teach, lead and inspire in schools, communities and museums. Rooted in critical thinking, theory building, innovative pedagogy and collaborative practice, it explores the transformative potential of visual arts learning at local, national and global levels. Through authentic, immersive teaching experiences in the classrooms and community settings, art education develops reflective, compassionate and engaged educators equipped to support diverse learners and empower the next generation of artists and thinkers.
