Darkroom, Digital

The Photography program introduces students to technical investigations of traditional, film-based black and white methods and digital photography before moving onto more advanced concept and project-based classes.

Tours of the UW Visual Arts facilities are available to prospective or current UW students who are interested in art and curious about how to become involved in the department.

Students will gain a solid understanding of the technical foundations of photography while looking at its history and trends. In upper level classes students are encouraged to push the boundaries of the medium and develop finished portfolios of prints that demonstrate the many techniques they have learned.
