What is the SLCE Action Movement (SLAM)?

This group is a community of passionate, committed students who are committed to service, leadership, and community engagement. SLAM Members are University of Wyoming students who take part in educational and community-building opportunities while also supporting programs and events with the SLCE Office. 

 

 

What does it mean to be a SLAM member?


 • Members will attend bi-weekly meetings, tours, and leadership development opportunities
 • Members will be part of putting on SLCE programs and event (event setup/teardown or staffing during an event).
 • Members will be attend events put on by the SLCE Office (or in collaboration with other offices)
 • Being part of The Big Event on October 19th will be a requirement, and members have the opportunity to either volunteer individually or serve in an event volunteer capacity.
 • Members will participate in promotional activities conducted by SLCE to get the word out about events, opportunities, and the SLCE Office in general. These activities include but are not limited to, tabling, re-sharing on social media, being part of social media content, and speaking to classes about upcoming opportunities.
 • Members will record their service and involvement with SLAM through Volunteer Hub
 • Represent the SLCE Office in a positive manner.
 • Maintain good academic and disciplinary standing. Members must be full-time undergraduate students at the University of Wyoming.

Members will receive incentives as they reach levels of involvement with this group!

Level 1: completing the SLAM join form and attending one event, program, or meeting.

Level 2: 5 or more hours of involvement with SLCE or SLAM events, programs, or meetings.

Level 3: 8 or more hours of involvement with SLCE or SLAM events, programs, or meetings.
