Ecosystem Science and Management
College of Agriculture, Life Sciences and Natural Resources
Graduate Education in ESM
The Department of Ecosystem Science and Management (ESM) integrates four disciplines: rangeland ecology, hydrology/watershed management,
soil science, and entomology. In ESM, our students learn not only their own discipline
but also how their discipline relates to others. Our research tackles the information
gaps that are at the frontiers of science and resource management and reside in the
connection between the disciplines. Our programs in extension and outreach offer integrated
solutions to real-world problems that cross disciplinary boundaries. Our faculty actively seek grant funding to support graduate research and education.
ESM is committed to the quality of your graduate education, and we strive to create
a positive environment where you have opportunities to interact with faculty and students
from a variety of disciplines.
